Digital anthropology is rapidly emerging as the discipline\u2019s new frontier. How we do research, what constitutes a field site, and where we find employment? Digital transformation affects virtually every aspect of what it means to be an anthropologist today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The PraxisDialoge is a regular event series organised by the Netzwerkstelle Ethnologie und Praxis<\/a> of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. For this Special Edition, we are teaming up with the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology<\/a> to bring together a panel of experts working as digital anthropologists in various sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Together, they will reflect on the opportunities and challenges they encounter in their daily work, ranging from tips and best practices for remote research, how to harness technology for good, how to land a job in digital anthropology, and whether \u2013 as a result of COVID-19 \u2013 we are all becoming digital anthropologists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Pre-recorded video-interviews with the experts will be conducted by students of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, who are currently enrolled in the BA-course Advances in Digital Anthropology<\/em>. These interviews will be posted from Thursday 9 July on the homepage<\/a> of this blog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This will be followed by an online Q&A-panel on Thursday 16 July at 2 pm where the panellists will respond to questions from students of the Institute for Social and Cultural Anthropology of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and researchers of the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
