Our research primarily focuses on the dynamic decision-making processes that lead to cell fate specification and animal tissue development. Using preferentially the genetic model system, Caenorhabditis elegans, the group aims to discover the combinatorial gene expression mechanisms of post-transcriptional RNA regulation and protein turnover to drive cell fate decisions. The project deals with regulation of Bicaudal C RNA-binding protein family members and is of medical relevance to vertebrate development and physiology.<\/p>\n
We are seeking a qualified (M.Sc. or equivalent), self-motivated, team-oriented lab member with strong communication skills and a genuine interest in RNA Biology of developmental and medical contexts. A solid background in developmental cell biology, molecular genetics, and biochemistry will be required. Experience in C. elegans genetics and genome engineering is not mandatory but helpful. Applications from candidates experienced in insect\/ mammalian cell culture systems are encouraged.
