Welcome to Georg-Forster-Haus, the international guesthouse of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. Who was Georg Forster (1754-1794)?

This scientist, circumnavigator, essayist, travel writer and democrat gathered experiences in many countries which made him one of Germany’s most eminent polymaths and writers in the period of late Enlightenment.
