The online-workshop Good Scientific Practice focuses on these scientific standards of international research. It raises awareness of the subject matter by providing doctoral candidates with a set of professional values and ethical norms as well as required competencies and skills to pursue scientific integrity. The content of the course follows the curriculum \u201cSafeguarding Good Scientific Practice\u201d (Memorandum and Code of Conduct) of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<span id=\"Specific_Topics\"><h3>Specific Topics<\/h3><\/span>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Introduction to good scientific practice<\/li><li>Mentoring in the science system<\/li><li>Misconduct in scientific research<\/li><li>Conflicts of interest in scientific cooperation<\/li><li>Data management<\/li><li>Publication ethics<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<span id=\"Aims\"><h3>Aims<\/h3><\/span>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop instructs participants on the principles of good scientific practice. Doctoral and postdoctoral candidates learn how to comply with the international values and standards of good scientific research and ethical practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<span id=\"Methodology\"><h3>Methodology<\/h3><\/span>\n\n\n\n<p>The online-workshop combines self-study \u2013 online lectures including video-clips (Vimeo) \u2013 and open discussions via video-conferencing (Zoom). An educational film sequence, a role-play (online small group work), various video-clips to case studies or delicate situations, and a set of questions concerning data management (online partner work) will contribute to a vital learning environment. Participants are actively involved and encouraged to compare their experience of scientific work with the international standards of good scientific practice.
