Yet many professionals find it difficult to do; they object to it and only turn to networking when they absolutely need help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It doesn\u2019t have to be this way. If we do it well, the relationships we nurture become critical to our ability to get things done, get ahead, and develop personally and professionally.<br>The goal of this workinar (workshop meets webinar) is to identify and unlock successful networking behaviours and learn new ways of communicating. How can I best introduce myself to others? What is most important about reaching out to contacts? Working together we will mobilize your most promising networking skills (both for academic and non-academic opportunities).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<span id=\"Your_Benefit\"><h3><strong>Your Benefit<\/strong><\/h3><\/span>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>You will reflect on the misconceptions about networking that block professionals to action<\/li><li>You will develop and practice your own elevator pitch<\/li><li>You will learn how to improve both your face-to-face and written \u2018presence\u2018<\/li><li>You will discover how others network: their creative ideas and personal style<\/li><li>You will recognize the advantages of networking and the different types of networks<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<span id=\"Content\"><h3><strong>Content<\/strong><\/h3><\/span>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Start:<br>What is a network? Why do people hesitate to network?
