In his interactive workshop, Dr. Michael Sch\u00f6ner will address what scientific integrity or scientific misconduct means in this context and show that there are gray areas between the two extremes, using the most common problems in questions of authorship, research data management (also related to diversity and gender variables) and supervision. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Part I \u2013 GSP overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n After a brief historical outline, participants are given an overview of the most important national and international regulations for compliance with good scientific practice and learn about the statutes specific to Martin Luther University Halle and the existing ombud system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Part II – Publication and authorship<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Who may appear as an author on a publication? What guidelines and recommendations are there and what do they say? Where are the grey areas? Who can help me?<\/p>\n\n\n\n “An author is an individual who has made a genuine, identifiable contribution to the content of a research publication of text, data or software.” (Guideline 14 of the DFG Code of Conduct \u201cGuidelines for Safeguarding Good Research Practice\u201d). The event is aimed at doctoral candidates and interested parties from all disciplines who would like to gain an initial overview of issues relating to good scientific practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr. Michael Sch\u00f6ner received his doctorate at the University of Greifswald, where he has headed the Graduate Academy and University Didactics since 2009. He is co-head of the Center for Academic and Digital Skills. This could say it all. In reality, however, the situation is often more complex. Especially in the early academic career phase, your own situation with regard to questions of authorship is often characterized by a lack of experience, uncertainty and dependencies. This workshop is intended to help you gain better clarity about the current regulations, rights and obligations in the area of “publication and authorship”, to become aware of the grey areas and to find out where you can turn to in case of questions and violations of scientific integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\nTarget Audience<\/h3><\/span>\n\n\n\n
