{"id":5651,"date":"2024-12-27T12:01:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-27T11:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.urz.uni-halle.de\/ingra\/?p=5651"},"modified":"2025-01-10T08:37:43","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T07:37:43","slug":"looking-back-at-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.urz.uni-halle.de\/ingra\/2024\/12\/looking-back-at-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Looking back at 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><br>While some things expected for 2024 (e.g. the revamp of the WissZVG) didn\u2019t happen, we nevertheless are looking back on an eventful year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The MLU released <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.urz.uni-halle.de\/ingra\/2024\/01\/new-statutes-on-the-principles-for-safeguarding-good-scientific-practice-at-mlu\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/blogs.urz.uni-halle.de\/ingra\/2024\/01\/new-statutes-on-the-principles-for-safeguarding-good-scientific-practice-at-mlu\/\" target=\"_blank\">new statutes<\/a> on the principles for safeguarding good scientific practice on January 16th 2024. <\/li><li>In <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.urz.uni-halle.de\/ingra\/kategorie\/complementary-skills-workshops\/complementary-skills-workshop-2024\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/blogs.urz.uni-halle.de\/ingra\/kategorie\/complementary-skills-workshops\/complementary-skills-workshop-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\">16 workshops<\/a> (counting only those we organised ourselves) 196 doctoral candidates participated and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive with an approval rate of slightly over 95%.<\/li><li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ingra.uni-halle.de\/doctoral_regulations\/#anchor3381780\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">doctoral regulations<\/a> of the Faculty of Medicine has been updated.<\/li><li>For the first time ever we were able to orchestrate an award ceremony for the doctoral candidates receiving a scholarship from the Saxony-Anhalt state graduate fund, which was a great success overall. On that note: the self-representational network of these scholarship receivers started an own <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.urz.uni-halle.de\/netzwerkgraduiertenfoerderung\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/blogs.urz.uni-halle.de\/netzwerkgraduiertenfoerderung\/\" target=\"_blank\">blog<\/a> this year, so be sure to check them out!<\/li><li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.urz.uni-halle.de\/ingra\/2024\/10\/mental-health-awareness-days-2024-improving-your-resilience-during-the-early-career-phases-november-27-29-2024\/\">Mental Health Awareness Days 2024<\/a> aimed on how to cope with demanding or stressful situations during your research. Ideally, the presented topics helped you to smoothen stressful situations and even prevent too heavy mental load.<\/li><li>Doctoral researchers from graduate schools in the field of Natural Sciences and Agricultural and Food Economics have had the opportunity to get into contact and network during the fourth <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/beam.uni-halle.de\/get-together-of-the-research-school-network-halle-2024-generative-ai-for-science\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get-Together<\/a> of the Research School Network Halle. The focus has been on Generative AI for Science: Boosting Efficiency, Effectivness and Creativity.<\/li><li>We expanded our <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.urz.uni-halle.de\/ingra\/2023\/09\/guides4docs\/\">set of guides<\/a> by creating and publishing the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.urz.uni-halle.de\/ingra\/2024\/02\/writing-an-expose\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/blogs.urz.uni-halle.de\/ingra\/2024\/02\/writing-an-expose\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u201eWriting an expos\u00e9\u201c<\/a> entry, which has been well received and visited pretty frequently ever since.\u00a0<\/li><li>The <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.urz.uni-halle.de\/promovierendenvertretung\/wir-stellen-uns-vor-deine-promovierendenvertretung\/\" target=\"_blank\">doctoral representation<\/a> has been (re-)elected for a new term of two years. Be sure to contact them when you need them and consider supporting them or becoming a part of them next term. <\/li><li>Looking at the graduate programs, the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/thread-etn.eu\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/thread-etn.eu\">ETN Numerical Modelling of Highly Flexible Structures<\/a> was successfully completed this year, congratulations to everyone there! On the one hand, the Research Training Group <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.urz.uni-halle.de\/rtg2498\/\" target=\"_blank\">Communication and Dynamics of Plant Cell Compartments<\/a> succesfully started into the second funding period. On the other hand, the research teams at the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/jtc.uni-halle.de\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/jtc.uni-halle.de\" target=\"_blank\">Just Transition Center<\/a> and those at the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/snp2prot.uni-halle.de\/irtg\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/snp2prot.uni-halle.de\/irtg\/\" target=\"_blank\">IRTG-Proteoforum<\/a> just started working in their many respective fields &#8211; we wish them the best of luck and continued success!
