{"id":6062,"date":"2025-07-07T09:02:13","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T07:02:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.urz.uni-halle.de\/ingra\/?p=6062"},"modified":"2025-09-01T09:47:34","modified_gmt":"2025-09-01T07:47:34","slug":"good-scientific-practice-september-05-2025-onsite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.urz.uni-halle.de\/ingra\/2025\/07\/good-scientific-practice-september-05-2025-onsite\/","title":{"rendered":"Good Scientific Practice (September 05, 2025) =&gt; postponed to 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u201cScientific integrity forms the basis of trustworthy research,\u201d states the preamble to the DFG\u2019s Guidelines for Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his interactive workshop, Dr. Michael Sch\u00f6ner will address what scientific integrity or scientific misconduct means in this context and show that there are gray areas between the two extremes, using the most common problems in questions of authorship, research data management (also related to diversity and gender variables) and supervision.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<span id=\"Content\"><h3>Content<\/h3><\/span>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Part I \u2013 GSP overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a brief historical outline, participants are given an overview of the most important national and international regulations for compliance with good scientific practice and learn about the statutes specific to Martin Luther University Halle and the existing ombud system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Part II \u2013 Publication and authorship<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Who may appear as an author on a publication? What guidelines and recommendations are there and what do they say? Where are the grey areas? Who can help me?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAn author is an individual who has made a genuine, identifiable contribution to the content of a research publication of text, data or software.\u201d (Guideline 14 of the DFG Code of Conduct \u201cGuidelines for Safeguarding Good Research Practice\u201d).<br>This could say it all. In reality, however, the situation is often more complex. Especially in the early academic career phase, your own situation with regard to questions of authorship is often characterized by a lack of experience, uncertainty and dependencies. He is co-head of the Center for Academic and Digital Skills.
