Law graduate Dr. Lena Sophie Leffer is one of 31 doctoral candidates nominated for the German Academic Award 2025. In April, she received the university’s Dorothea Erxleben Prize for the best dissertation in the social sciences and humanities for her dissertation entitled \u201cAutomated Suspicion Algorithms – Strafverfolgung durch K\u00fcnstliche Intelligenz am Beispiel der Geldw\u00e4sche\u201d. The prize is endowed with 1,000 euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chemist Dr. Justus Friedrich Th\u00fcmmler has been awarded the university’s Dorothea Erxleben Prize for his dissertation entitled \u201cNear-Infrared Fluorescent Single-Chain Nanoparticles as Contrast Agents for Photoacoustic Imaging\u201d. He received the prize of 1,000 euros in the life and natural sciences category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jan Sievers, doctoral candidate in the Medical Physics department, received the \u201cStudent Paper Award\u201d of the \u201cEuropean Conferences on Biomedical Optics\u201d at the end of June. His work presented at the conference entitled \u201cParallelized data acquisition using a Fabry Perot sensor with uniform optical thickness and a camera based tomograph for photoacoustic imaging\u201d was honoured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
