Python: Statistical analysis, model building and machine learning methods (April 12-14, 2023)

Date: April 12-14, 2023 (9.00-16.00)
Location: Online workshop via zoom

About the workshop

The scope of the course is an introduction to most common statistical tools and machine learning algorithms for data analysis with the programming language Python in conjunction with the freely available modules numpy, scipy, matplotlib, Statsmodels, pandas and scikit-learn. The aim of the course is to understand the basic ideas and concepts of those algorithms, to use them for data analysis and to apply them to an actual data set. By the end of the course, participants will be able to set up their own data analysis pipeline”

Lecturer

Dr. Markus Hohle did his PhD in astrophysics in Garching and Jena and works as lecturer at the Gene Center of the LMU Munich since 2013. During his courses, Markus focuses on hands-on examples with real data sets and participants apply the methods they have learned to their own data. As an important part of each course, he also includes sections about the conceptual mathematical background for correct application of the methods and interpretation of the results.
