This research&nbsp;<\/span>institution<span style=\"line-height: 1.75\"> was a part of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iap.fraunhofer.de\/en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research<\/a> (IAP). &nbsp;Members of the SFB together with its integrated research training group of Martin-Luther-Universit\u00e4t and Universit\u00e4t Leipzig got an insight &nbsp;into research and the facilities of FhI and BASF in Schwarzheide.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>About the institute<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>Bioplastics processing \u2212 R&amp;D close to the market<\/p>\n<p>With the establishment of the&nbsp; Processing Pilot Plant for Biopolymers at BASF&#8217;s site Schwarzheide we develop contributions for processing of marketable and new biobased plastics. We benefit from the locational advantage of the chemical park in order to transfer the results of our research and development work faster to the market.
