You have to publish papers in journals, it\u2019s an essential part of research. To help you there\u00b4s our “Writing Day<\/strong>“. This Writing Day<\/strong> provided participants with the experience and feedback that\u00b4s key to improving your scientific English writing, recognizing problems and solving them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea of our Writing Day<\/strong> was that Dr Andrew Davis give comprehensive feedback on writing plus an introduction to good scientific writing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The process is as follows. First, participants sent their texts to Dr Davis. Then Dr Davis examined and reviewed these texts for language proficiency, structure, comprehensiveness and style. After about a week, he sent the texts back with notes and comments. Then he presented a short introduction to good scientific writing in Leipzig or in Halle. After that he helped individually to revise texts. He also advised you on techniques to improve writing or on such things as avoiding writers\u2019 block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The workshop usually is open to all interested PhD students but members of the iRTG of the SFB TRR 102 were given priority. All applicants were chosen depending on their registration time in chronological order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
