The Wittenberg Teacher Academy is an annual nationwide teacher training seminar for educators on high school level and above. The seminar includes a varied group of educators, i.e. curriculum developers (and Fachbereichsleiter), teacher trainers, senior, junior, and future teachers as well as \u201cQuer- and Seiteneinsteiger*innen\u201d teachers. We offer 2.5 days of talks, interactive workshops, readings and informed conversation sessions by U.S. and German scholars, practitioners, and emerging artists that train participants in political, social, and cultural America related issues at Stiftung Leucorea in Lutherstadt Wittenberg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The input and materials that will be shared via our website are meant to deepen participants\u2019 understanding of U.S. society and to enable them to translate the seminar workshops on U.S. related content into meaningful lectures in their schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leucorea<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Situated in the heart of Wittenberg, the Leucorea Foundation represents an ideal conference venue providing ample space for conference sessions as well as for lodging and board for all participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With direct access to Wittenberg\u2019s central pedestrian area, the Leucorea is located in close proximity to the Luther House, in which Martin Luther spent most of his active life, and St. Mary\u2019s Church with the famous altar designed by Lucas Cranach the Elder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will be lodging at the Leucorea in single rooms (unless booked otherwise). The rooms at the Leucorea are fully equipped with en-suite bathrooms, television, telephone, and internet access. Catering service will supply us with breakfast and coffee\/tea during breaks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By train<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Take a train to Lutherstadt Wittenberg Hauptbahnhof (main station).
You can check timetables and book a ticket on the website of the Deutsche Bahn AG<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The walking distance from the train station to the Leucorea is approx. 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a taxi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By car<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The address of the Leucorea, Collegienstra\u00dfe, is a pedestrian area only. Therefore, please enter \u2018Wallstra\u00dfe\u2019 into your GPS. This street will lead you to the Leucorea\u2019s (rather limited) parking area and also offers further public parking areas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
