President Trump – one year on
Seit gut einem Jahr ist Donald J. Trump nunmehr Präsident der Vereinigten Staaten – Zeit für eine erste Zwischenbilanz. An dieser Stelle sei nur auf einige wenige Stimmen hingewiesen. So befasst sich in der aktuellen Ausgabe der „New York Review of Books“ James Mann mit der Trump-Präsidentschaft, der Aufsatz ist hier online abrufbar. Schon vor wenigen Wochen hat Jack Goldsmith in der Zeitschrift „The Atlantic“ in einem sehr umfangreichen Aufsatz die möglichen Konsequenzen einer Trump-Präsidentschaft für das politische System der Vereinigten Staaten beschrieben. Online abrufbar ist der Beitrag hier. In der Zeitschrift SIRIUS beschreibt schließlich der deutsche Politikwissenschaftler Josef Braml anhand vieler Beispiele den „Rückbau des Verwaltungsstaates“ unter Trump sowie die Folgen für den Staat an sich. Update, 4.1.2018: für ordentlich Schlagzeilen sorgt derzeit der Vorabdruck aus „Fire and Fury“ von Michael Wolff über die ersten neun Monate von Donald Trump im Weißen Haus. Das Buch selbst erscheint am 9. Januar 2018 (steht aber bereits auf Platz eins der bei Amazon meistverkauften Bücher), der Vorabdruck im „New York Magazine“ ist seit gestern online verfügbar.
