Ich studiere f\u00fcr meinen Doppelabschluss: einen Bachelor of Communications mit Schwerpunkt Medienkunst; und einen Bachelor of Arts in International Studies.<br><br>Dieses Jahr studiere ich im Ausland in Bordeaux, um ein Inlandsstudium zu absolvieren und meinen Abschluss in International Studies zu machen. Im Vergleich zu Bordeaux finde ich, dass Sydney vielf\u00e4ltiger ist und das kulturelle Erbe mehr zu sch\u00e4tzen wei\u00df. Unterschiede sind akzeptierter und Multikulturalismus ist viel weiter verbreitet.<br>Die N\u00e4he Australiens zu Asien bedeutet, dass Sydney eine weitaus gr\u00f6\u00dfere Auswahl an Gesch\u00e4ften und Produkten hat, wodurch ich mich wie zu Hause f\u00fchle, weil ich aus Vietnam komme. Seit ich in Frankreich angekommen bin, vermisse ich Bubble Tea sehr, aber die Preise machen es einem Studenten schwer, sich solchen Luxus zu leisten. Die unglaubliche Auswahl an Essen, Snacks und K\u00f6stlichkeiten, die zu Hause so leicht zu finden waren, sind heute eine ferne Erinnerung.<br><br>Der Lebensstil in Sydney ist schnelllebig und gesch\u00e4ftig, wobei die Stadt ein Zentrum der Aktivit\u00e4t ist. Ich komme aus den Vororten von Sydney, ungef\u00e4hr eine Stunde vom Stadtzentrum entfernt. Als ich dort lebte, dachte ich wirklich nicht viel \u00fcber all die erstaunlichen Spezialit\u00e4ten und die relativ niedrigeren Preise der Dinge im Gegensatz zu Frankreich nach. Diese Dinge waren eine Selbstverst\u00e4ndlichkeit, eine undenkbare Erwartung, die immer da sein w\u00fcrde. Privilegien, die ich nun viel mehr zu sch\u00e4tzen wei\u00df.<br><br>Au\u00dferdem ist es schwierig, pl\u00f6tzlich kein Sicherheitsnetz mehr zu haben, nicht mehr bei meinen Eltern zu leben und pl\u00f6tzlich ein unabh\u00e4ngiger Erwachsener zu werden. Ich hatte noch nie viel f\u00fcr mich selbst gekocht, deshalb habe ich von meiner Mutter nie traditionelle K\u00fcche gelernt. Selbst wenn ich es jetzt w\u00fcsste, bin ich mir nicht sicher, ob ich es, in Hinblick auf die Kochutensilien, die ich kaufen m\u00fcsste und die hohen Preise f\u00fcr Lebensmittel, schaffen k\u00f6nnte.<br>Das Essen w\u00e4chst zwar auf B\u00e4umen, ist aber nicht kostenlos. Wenn ich hier alleine lebe, ist es bequemer, nur etwas Toast und etwas Nutella zu kaufen.<br><br>In Sydney blieb ich normalerweise den ganzen Tag zu Hause, wenn ich nicht an der Uni war. Die dortigen \u201elockout laws\u201c sind strenger, weshalb die Bars und Clubs fr\u00fcher schlie\u00dfen.<br><br>Wenn ich nach Australien zur\u00fcckkehre, werde ich definitiv mehr ausgehen und die kulturellen Angebote genie\u00dfen, die dem Leben dort innewohnen. I am studying for my double degree: a Bachelor of Communications majoring in Media Arts; and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. This year I\u2019m studying abroad in Bordeaux for an \u2018in-country study\u2019 to complete my International Studies degree.<br><br>In comparison to Bordeaux, I find that Sydney has more variety and is more accepting of cultural heritage. It claims to accept difference, and so multiculturalism is far more celebrated. Australia\u2019s closeness to Asia means that Sydney has a far wider range of stores and products, which make me feel at home because I come from a Vietnamese background. Since arriving in France, I miss bubble tea very much, but the prices make it difficult for a student to afford such luxury. The incredible food, snacks, and delicacies which were so easy to find at home is now a distant memory.<br><br>The lifestyle in Sydney is fast-paced and bustling, with the city being a hub of activity. I come from the suburbs of Sydney, about an hour away from the city centre. When I lived there, I really didn\u2019t think much of all the amazing specialties, and the relatively lower prices of things in contrast to France. These things were a given, an unthinking expectation that would always be there. I\u2019m coming to think of what I had in Sydney, at my home, as privileges.<br><br>It is difficult to suddenly have no safety net of living with my parents, and suddenly become an independent adult. I had never cooked much for myself before, so I never learnt traditional cuisine from my mum. Even if I did know now, I\u2019m not sure I could make it because of the cooking utensils I would have to buy, and the prices of groceries.<br>Food does grow on trees, but it\u2019s not free. Living by myself here, it is more convenient to just buy a loaf of sandwich bread and some Nutella.<br><br>In Sydney, I usually stayed at home all day if I wasn\u2019t at uni. It didn\u2019t help that the \u2018lockout laws\u2019 there are tougher, and so bars and clubs close earlier. <br><br>When I return to Australia, I\u2019ll definitely go out more and revel in the cultural infusions inherent to living there.
