Durch Stefan Gro\u00dfmann mithilfe des Verlegers Ernst Rowohlt in Berlin ins Leben gerufen, ab 1922 gemeinsam mit und ab 1928 alleinig von Leopold Schwarzschild herausgegeben, richtete sich die Zeitschrift \u00fcberparteilich an \u00bburteilsf\u00e4hige Leser\u00ab, setzte sich zum Ziel, einen \u00bbGeheimbund der Sachkenner zu schaffen\u00ab und wollte \u00bblieber berichten als urteilen\u00ab. Thematisch besch\u00e4ftigten sich die Artikel mit Politik, Wirtschaft, Kultur und Gesellschaft.
