Our Image Contest Exhibition Opens at the Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften

Verfasst von

Our Scientific Image Contest 2026 exhibition officially opened at the Biozentrum as part of the Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften, and the response from visitors was very positive.

Visitors of all ages made their way through the gallery of scientific images, each one connected to a story from the lab, the field, or the world of data visualization. From microscopic structures to large-scale simulations, the exhibition gave the public a look at the work behind our researchers‘ images.

Four Weeks of Discovery — and Voting

Since opening night, the exhibition has remained open to the public, giving visitors time to explore the images, learn about the science behind them, and vote for their favorite. Many made use of the QR codes on display to cast their vote for the Visitors‘ Favorite Award.

The result of that vote is already known internally — but we’re not announcing it just yet.

We’re holding back the outcome of the public vote for a little longer, so it can be presented properly at its own event.

Save the Date: The Winner Will Be Announced at the Planetarium

On September 14, the Image Contest concludes with an event at the Planetarium.

At the „Pitch Your Image“ event, selected participants will present a 3-minute, Science-Slam-inspired live pitch, with their images projected across the full dome. The audience will have the opportunity to ask a few questions, the jury will present the Best Pitch Award, and the Visitors‘ Favorite Award will be announced.

It’s an opportunity to see the winning images presented in the dome and hear more about them directly from the researchers.

Join us on September 14 at the Planetarium to find out which image visitors chose as their favorite.

More details on the Planetarium event, including how to attend, will follow soon.
