The Wittenberg Teacher Academy 2025 is dedicated to issues of media literacy and U.S. democracy. We offer 2.5 days of talks, interactive workshops, readings and informed conversation sessions by U.S. and German scholars, practitioners, and emerging artists that train participants in political, social, and cultural America related issues at Stiftung Leucorea in Lutherstadt Wittenberg. In 2025, we will focus on the theme of “Storytelling in Twenty-First-Century United States.” The event will feature talks on issues of storytelling in a wide array of literary contexts. We are going to explore genres, themes, and literary trends in contemporary US literature, discuss new and old canons, examine novel approaches of teaching literature in the EFL-classroom as well as practice creative text production.
