When work is done, it is important to recover and distance yourself from tasks and deadlines. There are many ways in which this can be achieved.

What are your sources of strength? What can you use to recharge your batteries? Fill up your energy with things that are good for yourself. Try something new from time to time. Here are a few suggestions:

  • A walk in nature
  • A good (phone) conversation with a family member or friend
  • Listening to music
  • Dancing
  • Handicrafts
  • Drawing, Coloring (e.g. mandalas for adults)
  • Activities together with (your) children
  • Board games
  • Reading a book
  • Gardening

No matter what you are choosing to do – do it as consciously as possible. Concentrate only on that specific activity. Let go of thoughts about your work and everything that might be stressing you. Then the recovery effect is most powerful.
