Researching SARS-CoV-2

Our laboratory is focusing its efforts to model, dissect and understand the recognition of the SARS-CoV-2 virus by the epithelial cells. In particular, we seek to answer how genetic variation in the epithelial receptor, ACE2, and the virus can cross-talk in order to finely modulate infection.
Please check the Publication List or announcement sections for work related to the research of this new virus that has so greatly affected and altered our lives.

announcement #4 Dr. Jaydeep Belapure joins the lab to perform computational biology for understanding S protein-ACE2 receptor recognition!
announcement #3 (on receiving a BMBF grant for studying COVID-19): Two new post-docs will be joining my laboratory to fight SARS-Cov-2!
announcement #2 (on ACE2 receptor variants): Models provided for the community for cryoEM and crystal complexes of SARS-CoV-2 S-protein and ACE2 receptor variants! Find the models here, in our Lab GitHub!
announcement #1 (on cross-species transmission): Which reasons are behind the fact that some species get infected by SARS-CoV-2 while others don’t?
