We are happy to inform you that we collaborated with the MPI in Magdeburg, a work led by Dr.-Ing. Ivan Ivanov, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kai Sundmacher, and Dr. Rumiana Dimova. We have acquired cryo-EM data for a designed respiratory chain. We Continue reading A respiratory unit visualized by cryo-EM! Our collaboration is published in PNAS
Our paper is available as a pre-print in Biorxiv (https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/738724v1). In this work, we have determined the atomic structure of mouse apoferritin using the Glacios microscope. Its difference comparedd to other 200 keV microscope is its compact design, allowing the Continue reading Our paper on the 2.7 Å structure of apoferritin with the Glacios and the Falcon 3EC is available as a preprint!
We have successfully vitrified apoferritin in own Vitrobot Mark 4. Loading the microscope and starting EPU yesterday evening ended up with an acquisition of ~300 high-resolution images from a single gridsquare! First of all, we are able to demonstrate the Continue reading Vitrified apoferritin in Halle – first overnight acquisition is complete!
We have acquired overnight cryo-EM data of apoferritin, and calculations are in agreement with data acquisition in EPU. These days, we are optimizing vitrification of standard protein samples for a high-end data acquisition at the microscope; An image from Warp Continue reading Defocus estimation currently working, 320 images overnight!
Thanks to Warp (http://www.warpem.com/warp/), an amazing on-the-fly image processing suite for cryo-EM data, we are able not only to acquire beautiful apoferritin images with EPU, but also estimate the quality of our image acquisition on the fly!
