Mit 13 beschloss meine Mutter, dass ich alt genug für ein eigenes Pferd bin. Wir hatten zu dem Zeitpunkt schon 3 eigene Pferde, die wir selber hielten. Da bei einem Kind in dem Alter unklar ist, ob das Interesse am Reiten bestehen bleibt, sollte es ein ruhiges ausgegelichenes Pferd sein und ein Fohlen. Nach langer Suche haben wir Poldi gefunden. Es war sozusagen Liebe auf den ersten Blick.
Mit 3 1/2 Jahren haben wir angefangen ihn einzureiten. Doch schon bald fing er an unregelmäßig lahm zu gehen.Nach vielen Tests, Besuchen von Sattler, Osteopath, Physiotherapeut, ohne Ergebniss, brachten wir ihn in die Tierklinik. Dort konnt endlich sein zu langes Knieband diagnostiziert werden. Ohne OP oder regelmäßige Spritzen kann ein Pferd mit der Problematik eigentlich nur als Beisteller mit seltenen Ausritten gehalten werden. Trotzdem habe ich mich für diesen Weg entschieden.
Zusammen mit meiner Mutter und unserem Tierarzt haben wir ihn homöopathisch eingestellt und einen speziellen Trainingsplan für ihn aufgestellt. Nach ein paar Monaten ging es ihm gut wie nie.
Mittlerweile reite ich ihn auf Leistund A Dressuren und Springen. Klar hab ich sein Knieband stets im Blick und bin mir bewusste, dass er bald aus dem Turniersport raus ist. Aber ich bin glücklich so wie es ist. Poldi ist mein bester Freund und Seelenfreund weshalb ich glücklich bin mit allem was kommt. Was will ich nächste Saison erreichen? Kommt im nächsten Beitrag.

Ich kenne das nur zu gut – mein Pferd hatte auch gesundheitliche Herausforderungen, aber mit Geduld, alternativen Ansätzen und einem guten Team kann man so viel erreichen. Es ist wie bei Drift Boss : Du brauchst Gefühl fürs Timing, manchmal musst du schnell reagieren, aber wenn du dranbleibst, wirst du belohnt. Poldi und du seid ein tolles Team – weiter so!
