Was noch?

  8. A good riding surface really changes everything — it makes consistent training possible and opens up so many more options for long lunging, jumping work, and dressage. I especially like how you’re using this time to focus on technique instead of just height. 9.

11. A well-kept training surface really changes everything, and your post shows that perfectly. I liked how you explained the impact not just on jumping, but also on lunging, dressage, and overall horse fitness. That balanced approach feels very thoughtful and practical. It’s great to see you using the better ground to focus on technique instead of only height. 12. A properly prepared arena really changes everything, and your post explains that so well. I especially like how you connect the new sand footing with a smarter training plan: longe work, spring gymnastics, dressage, and even hacking all in balance. That mix is exactly what helps horses stay healthy and progress steadily. Your approach to using the ground conditions to improve technique instead of just pushing for more height is refreshing. It’s interesting how much of a difference a proper sand surface can make for training consistency, especially when you mention being able to work even through longer rainy periods. I also liked the point about being able to long line each horse once a week again, since that kind of regularity really matters for development.

The new sand on the riding arena sounds like a real improvement, especially if you can keep training through longer rainy periods. I also liked the point about being able to lunge each horse once a week again, because that kind of consistent work makes a big difference.

I can relate to this focus on technique during a competition break. When I worked with my horse, regular lunging and gymnastic exercises helped us improve balance and responsiveness without constantly jumping higher. Tight turns and combinations also became much easier once I learned to maintain rhythm instead of adding pressure. It takes patience, but small improvements are very rewarding. On rainy days, I sometimes relax with Suika Game, which is a simple and enjoyable way to unwind after training. Returning to practice with a clear plan makes progress feel much more achievable.
