Wir kennen es alle: Beim Gang durch den Supermarkt begegnen uns Tonnen von Plastik. Von Mülltüten bis hin zu eingeschweißten Paprikas, Kartoffelnetzen oder Verpackungen. Müll soweit das Auge reicht.
Das will Jennifer Timrott vom Verein „Küste gegen Plastik“ nun ändern. Sie hat die App “Replace Plastic” entwickelt, mit der man Produkte scannen und so den Herstellern mitteilen kann, dass man sich dieses Produkt ohne Plastik wünscht. Nach 20 Scans oder vier Wochen nach dem ersten Scan geht eine Nachricht an den Hersteller heraus, der ihn im Namen der Kunden bittet, sein Produkt ohne Plastik anzubieten.
Laut Timrott ist ein großes Problem, dass Hersteller erst aktiv werden, wenn sich die Kunden beginnen aufzulehnen. Und genau das soll nun mit der App passieren.
