Insights behind the CV: Kerstin Blank (February 24, 2023)

You are warmly invited to join the informal career talk by Kerstin Blank! Successful scientists share their experiences in natural science and tell the story behind their official CV. After the talk there will be enough time for informal discussion and networking.

Target audience are (female) natural scientists from our university and related institutes. Male scientist are invited as well since most career issues and the balance of academic career and family also affect men.

Date: February 24, 2023

ATM: Introduction to mass spectrometry (November 29-30 + December 13, 2022)

Aims

This advanced training module addresses doctoral students in chemistry, physics, biophysics, and related fields without much prior knowledge or experience in mass spectrometry. It introduces the basic theoretical and technical concepts of mass spectrometry and will provide hands-on experiments in the labs.

[BEAM] ATM: NMR spectroscopy for biomolecular and materials characterization (March 13-14, 2023)

Aims

This module addresses doctoral students in chemistry, physics, biophysics, and related fields without much prior knowledge in NMR spectroscopy. It introduces the basic theoretical and technical concepts necessary for an understanding of data/spectrum acquisition in pulsed NMR and the information content, and focuses on a few specific experimental techniques to study dynamics in polymer and biopolymer systems.

MacroStruct23 (March 1-3, 2023)

Our iRTG organises the concluding conference of the SFB:  MacroStruct 23 in Leipzig, 1-3 March 2023. The meeting centres around processes of macromolecular structure formation, such as polymer crystallisation and protein fibrillation, and provides a platform to share innovative concepts bringing both fields together. Confirmed plenary speakers include: Alicyn Rhoades, Guenter Reiter, Sara Linse, Paolo Arosio, Sebastien Lecommandoux and Birgit Strodel.

Aside from classical talks, we have organised a series of interactive sessions and workshops that allow researchers of all career stages to connect, exchange ideas and engage in lively discussions.

You are welcome to submit abstracts for talks and posters until 12 December 2022Registration is now open!
