In letzter Zeit denke ich beim Wort „Spaltung“ nicht an Atomkerne, sondern das Wort kommt immer in Begleitung daher, nämlich als „Spaltung der Gesellschaft“.

An Kommentare nach Wahlen oder wenn mal wieder jemand rhetorisch überdreht hat?
Mir kommt in den Sinn „Versöhnen statt spalten“.
Überlegen Sie noch kurz weiter, was Ihnen noch einfällt.
Interessant fände ich jetzt auch, ob das Wort „Spaltung“ sich neutral anfühlt, oder negativ? Oder sogar positiv?
Hier möchte ich nur zwei Gedanken dazu teilen.
- Spaltung ist nicht immer schlecht.
- Spaltung suggeriert hier-dort, oder links-rechts, oder oben-unten, generell sowas wie schwarz-weiß. Entweder oder.
Spaltung ist ok, wenn ich damit eine Trennlinie ziehe zu etwas, was tatsächlich nicht zum Rest dazugehört oder gehören sollte. Wenn mit „Spaltung der Gesellschaft“ gemeint ist, dass sich ein kleiner Teil abspaltet, der in grundlegenden Fragen (z.B. Grundgesetz, Gewaltmonopol des Staates und sowas) keinen Konsens mit dem Rest hat, dann ist das ok. Wenn die ausgestreckte Hand weggeschlagen wird, wenn man angebrüllt, beschimpft oder körperlich bedroht wird, dann ist es ok, das Gespräch (für den Moment) zu beenden und zu akzeptieren, dass da eine Trennlinie ist. Was da nach meinem Gefühl suggeriert wird, nämlich dass gespalten wird in zwei etwa gleich große Teile, stimmt ja oft gar nicht, wenn die berühmte „Spaltung der Gesellschaft“ angesprochen wird.
Damit komme ich zum zweiten Punkt: Es ist einfach komplizierter als „wir hier und Ihr da drüben“. Das Wort Spaltung suggeriert zwei Teile, zwei Gruppen, und das ist meistens sehr, sehr unterkomplex. Es gibt bei zahlreichen Fragen Grautöne, viele Haltungen, manchmal sind die Unterschiede ganz klein. Aber durch die Vereinfachungen in der Sprache, Worte wie „Gegner“ und „Feind“ und eben „Spaltung“, wird suggeriert, dass es nur zwei Seiten gibt, zwei Meinungen, entweder oder. Das ist mir viel zu einfach. Und es nervt.
Und daher sehe ich oft nicht die angebliche „Spaltung“ als das Problem, sondern den sprachlichen und inhaltlichen Umgang damit und diese unzulässige Vereinfachung auf „entweder-oder“.

Wann gibt es wirklich nur hier und dort, richtig und falsch?
Bei welche Fragestellungen ist die scharfe Unterscheidung ohne Zwischentöne sinnvoll und richtig, und wo führt das zu Vereinfachungen, die eben gerade nicht hilfreich sind?
