DFG approves second funding period of International Research Training Group “TreeDi”
The Senate of the German Research Foundation (DFG) has approved the second funding period for the International Research Training Group “TreeDi – 林地 – Tree Diversity Interactions: The role of tree-tree interactions in local neighbourhoods in Chinese subtropical forests (GRK 2324)”.
The RTG focuses on the question of how trees interact and cooperate with each other within a forest, for example by exchanging nutrients via roots and fungal partners. The PhD projects are dedicated to the underlying processes and mechanisms of this cooperation.
The International Research Training Group “TreeDi – 林地 – Tree Diversity Interactions” is jointly operated by the MLU and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). Hosting institution is the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) Halle-Jena-Leipzig.
