- 14:00 – 14:10 |Welcome
by Dr. Andreas Lauenroth - 14:10 – 14:50 | Entrepreneurship Basics
Do you need to be born as an entrepreneur or is it possible to become one? Do I need an innovative idea or technology to be successful? Just two of a bunch of questions students and scientists ask themselves when thinking about becoming their own boss after their university life. The session will give an insight in what it means to become an entrepreneur, how an entrepreneurial mindset looks like and how to start to turn an idea into a successful business. The session is addressed to people who have already plans to start a business but also to those who are just curious about the opportunities and a brief ?how-to? by Steffen Ahrens - 14:50 – 15:00 | Break
- 15:00 – 16:00 |IP/ Property rights
Patent, utility model, design, trademarks, copyright ? this workshop will illustrate the different types of intellectual property rights, and will explain which right fits which research result. Participants will learn basics in patent research and get an outline of rights and obligations of employees and free inventors. by Dr. Robert Szczesny - 16:00 – 16:15 | Break
- 16:15 – 17:00 | Financing and funding of start-ups
Science-based innovations are highly relevant for future economic development in Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany and the EU. Numerous funding schemes from regional, national and European public sources are accessible for researchers that aim to test basic research for market potential or to move ideas forward from lab to application, be it through collaboration with industry or spinning out a new company from university. The session will give an overview on some regularly available grant schemes and their typical ?terms and conditions?. Participants are invited to q&a about ?fundability? of their specific ideas and to consult with MLU?s Transfer and Entrepreneurship Office anytime. by Moritz Bradler
