In diesem Blended Learning Workshop verbinden wir die theoretischen Grundlagen mit der praktischen Fallarbeit. Auf Basis der DFG-Richtlinien und der Prinzipien guter wissenschaftlicher Praxis diskutieren wir in mehreren Runden Fallbeispiele, um häufige Probleme im Forschungsprozess, im Bereich der Publikation und Autorschaft und im Umgang mit Unsicherheiten aufzuzeigen.

The interactive workshop aims at improving non-native English speakers’ skills in writing scientific texts in English and to permanently upgrade the linguistic quality of their English writing. Large Language Models und KI-Funktionen halten zunehmend Einzug in die qualitative Forschungspraxis. Doch eine zentrale Frage bleibt für viele Forschende unbeantwortet: Wie lassen sich diese Werkzeuge praktisch und verantwortungsvoll in den eigenen methodischen Workflow integrieren – ohne die Kontrolle über den Interpretationsprozess zu verlieren? 

Diese zweitägige Forschungswerkstatt geht über eine bloße Vorstellung von KI-Tools hinaus: In einem interaktiven Laborformat simulieren wir gemeinsam einen verkürzten Forschungsprozess der Qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse. Wir experimentieren mit verschiedenen KI-Werkzeugen, wenden sie auf ein praxisnahes Datenset an und reflektieren die Ergebnisse im direkten Austausch. Das Ziel: einen persönlichen, methodisch fundierten Workflow für den Einsatz von KI in der eigenen Forschung zu entwickeln.

Different communication styles and perspectives are part of academic collaboration and can sometimes lead to challenging situations.

This workshop supports doctoral researchers in actively shaping their supervisory relationship. You will reflect on what good supervision means to you, clarify roles and mutual expectations, and explore how supervision agreements and institutional frameworks can provide orientation and serve as useful communication tools.

A particular focus will be on communication: How can you address expectations and needs clearly? How can you give and receive feedback constructively? And how can you communicate with clarity and confidence when situations become challenging?
