[BMBF] Hackathon in Leipzig (May 12-14, 2023 | onsite)

Written by

The project “Hack the wiki gap – making innovative women visible” aims to reduce the gender gap in Wikipedia, i.e. the gap in biographies of women. In addition, it aims to close the author gender gap, i.e. the underrepresentation of women in Wikipedia communities and among Wikipedia authors.

To this end, several Hackathons are being organised by the non-profit society for science communication “Torten und Trompeten” throughout Germany. The next one will happen in Leipzig and there participants will select one of the many missing women from the field of politics and activism, research background and data, acquire new knowledge and write a well-founded short biography.
