TV-Tipp: „Der Sturm auf das Kapitol“
Am 6. Januar 2022 jährt sich der Sturm auf das Kapitol in Washington DC. Dabei drangen Hunderte Anhänger des damaligen US-Präsidenten Donald Trump gewaltsam in den Sitz des US-Kongresses ein. Zur Aufklärung dieser Ereignisse hat das amerikanische Parlament einen Untersuchungsausschuss eingesetzt, der noch vor den nächsten Zwischenwahlen im November 2022 seinen Abschlussbericht vorlegen wird.
Der Fernsehsender ARTE zeigt am 4. Januar 2022 um 20:15 Uhr eine Dokumention der Filmemacher Dagmar Gallenmüller und Gaston Saša Koren mit dem Titel „Der Sturm auf das Kapitol. Ein amerikanisches Trauma“ zu diesem Sturm. Dabei werden die damaligen Ereignisse rekonstruiert und nach den Folgen dieses Sturms gefragt. Zu sehen ist der Beitrag bereits vorab hier. Zwei Tage nach der ARTE-Doku zeigt auch das Erste einen Film zum Kapitolsturm: „Sturm auf das Kapitol. Der Angriff auf die US-Demokratie“ läuft am 6. Januar 2022 um 22:15 Uhr. Dabei handelt es sich um eine Koproduktion von HBO, BBC und SWR. Hintergründe zu dieser Dokumentation gibt es hier nachzulesen.
