In der Reihe „Digitale Bildkulturen“ des Berliner Verlages Klaus Wagenbach ist kürzlich der Band „Meme“ von Dirk von Gehlen erschienen. Auf der Verlagsseite heißt es über das Buch: „Das Internet hat nicht nur Geschäftsmodelle und Lebensweisen verändert, es hat auch einen eigenen digitalen Dialekt hervorgebracht. Er zeigt sich in Bildern und Motiven, die viral durchs Web geistern: Internet-Meme sind überall und doch kaum zu greifen. Wer die Kultur der Internet-Meme verstehen will, die schon lange aus den digitalen Sphären herausgetreten ist, muss sich auf den vermeintlichen Quatsch einlassen, auf dem viele diese Meme basieren.
