Der Filmemacher Charlie Sadoff und sein Koautor Kenneth Harbaugh dienten früher in der US-Armee und berücksichtigen in ihrer Dokumentation insbesondere die Rolle von Veteranen in den Ereignissen des 6. Januars. Ex-Angehörige des US-Militärs oder der Polizei machten damals etwa 15 Prozent der Demonstranten aus. Zugleich rekapituliert der Film das Aufkommen paramilitärischer Organisationen wie die „Three Percenters“, die „Proud Boys“ und die „Oath Keepers“.
