„Ohne Netz“: Sechs Monate offline
Ein interessantes Experiment hat kürzlich der Journalist Alex Rühle durchgeführt: der Feuilleton-Redakteur der Süddeutschen Zeitung hat sich sechs Monate lang, von Dezember 2009 bis Mai 2010, komplett offline ernährt, sprich: ohne Emails, Internet, Facebook und sein Smartphone. Über seine Erfahrungen hat er in dieser Zeit Tagebuch geführt, das er vor wenigen Tagen als Buch veröffentlicht hat.
Er fragt sich darin, ob es bereits eine Sucht ist, wenn man im Urlaubsort Meilen läuft, um ein Internetcafe zu suchen. Wenn man sich im Restaurant entschuldigt, um auf der Toilette die letzten Twitter-Einträge abzurufen. Wenn das Handy des letzte ist, das man abends sieht und das erste, zu dem man am Morgen greift. Sein Resümee: es ist möglich, wenn man bereit ist, eine Reihe an Unannehmlichkeiten in Kauf zu nehmen, z. B. auf der Straße nach Telefonzellen zu suchen, alte Faxgeräte wieder in Betrieb zu bringen oder Zahlen und Fakten nicht mehr googeln zu können, sondern im Lexikon nachzuschlagen.
Am Ende dieser Zeit ist Rühle keineswegs geheilt: er greift wieder zurück auf Internet und Handy, aber er tut es jetzt wohl bewusster. Entstanden ist ein äußerst kurzweiliges und über weite Strecken sogar amüsantes Buch, das ich Ihnen gerade jetzt in den Semesterferien wärmstens ans Herz legen kann.
Der NEON-Journalist Christoph Koch hat übrigens für vier Wochen ein ähnliches Experiment gewagt. Sein Buch ist nahezu zeitgleich mit Rühles Buch erschienen. Ich habe es noch nicht gelesen. Vielleicht haben Sie es gelesen und wollen uns hier an dieser Stelle das Buch vorstellen??
