Europäische Stipendien im Überblick
Auf Initiative der Europäischen Kommission ist kürzlich ein Internetportal frei geschaltet worden, das nahezu 800 europäische Stipendienprogramme vorstellt. Recherchierbar ist die Seite anhand der Art des Studiums (Bachelor, Master, etc.), der wissenschaftlichen Fachrichtung, des Herkunftslandes und des Ziellandes. Über Studienstipendien hinaus bietet das Portal auch Angebote für Doktoranden, Praktikanten und Schüler. Laut Süddeutscher Zeitung vom 4. Oktober 2010 werden in Europa ca. 16 Milliarden Euro pro Jahr für Stipendien ausgegeben. Insgesamt 90.000 deutsche Studenten gehen pro Jahr ins Ausland. Nach einer Studie des Hochschul-Informations-Systems (HIS) sagen in einer Umfrage 60 Prozent der befragten Studierenden, dass sie aufgrund fehlender finanzieller Mittel nicht ins Ausland gehen würden. Mit dem neuen Portal scheint ein erster Schritt getan worden zu sein, um eine Verbindung zwischen Studierendem und Stipendiengeber zu schaffen.
