Veranstaltung der Böll-Stiftung zur Frage eines NPD-Verbots
Das Landesbüro Sachsen-Anhalt lädt für nächste Woche zu einer Diskussion zur Frage eines NPD-Verbots ein. Nachfolgend finden Sie den Ausschreibungstext der Stiftung:
„Seit bekannt geworden ist, dass es eine mordende rechtsterroristische Terrorzelle mit engen personellen Verbindungen zu mindestens einem hohen NPD-Funktionär in Thüringen gegeben hat, ist die Diskussion über ein NPD-Verbot wieder neu entbrannt. Ein Parteienverbot gilt dabei als die schärfste Waffe der streitbaren Demokratie und ist dementsprechend mit hohen juristischen Hürden verbunden. Diese konnten beim letzten Anlauf eines NPD-Parteienverbots im Jahr 2003 aufgrund der Verquickung von Verfassungsschutzinformanten und rechtsextremer Führungsebene nicht erfüllt werden, weshalb das Verbotsverfahren eingestellt – und damit als gescheitert eingestuft wurde.
Deshalb sind die folgenden Fragen wieder hochaktuell: Welchen Umgang brauchen wir in einer Demokratie mit rechtsextremen Parteien? Sollte die NPD überhaupt verboten werden? Welche Voraussetzungen müssen dafür erfüllt sein und wie aussichtsreich wäre ein Verbot? Gibt es wirkungsvolle Alternativen?
