Nicht erst seit Inkrafttreten des Netzwerkdurchsetzungsgesetzes diskutieren Öffentlichkeit, Politiker und Experten, wie mit Hasskommentaren im Internet umzugehen ist. Der Hallenser Wirtschaftsinformatiker Uwe Bretschneider hat sich in seiner Dissertation an der Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) mit genau diesem Thema befasst. In dieser Arbeit hat er unter anderem ein Verfahren zur automatischen Erkennung von Hass-Kommentaren in deutschen und englischen Texten entwickelt.
