Forum Bellevue: „Welche Zukunft“?
Am heutigen Montag hat Bundespräsident Frank-Walter Steinmeier hochrangige Gäste in seinen Amtssitz Schloss Bellevue geladen, um über die Zukunft der parlamentarischen Demokratie zu diskutieren. Zu den Gästen zählen der Psychologe Steven Pinker, der Schriftsteller Ian McEwan sowie die Neurowissenschaftlerin Maren Urner. Auf der Veranstaltungsseite im Netz heißt es: „Der Bundespräsident und seine Gäste widmen sich der Frage, wie das Vertrauen der Bürgerinnen und Bürger in den Fortschritt zum Vorteil für möglichst viele Menschen wiedergewonnen und gestärkt werden kann. Es geht um Vertrauen in die Zukunft und um Vertrauen darauf, dass wir als Gesellschaft die Zukunft gestalten können. Derzeit erleben wir ein wachsendes Misstrauen gegenüber einigen zentralen Institutionen der liberalen Demokratie sowie neue Formen der Mobilisierung und des kollektiven politischen Handelns. In Deutschland wird – wie in vielen europäischen Ländern – das traditionelle Parteiensystem auf die Probe gestellt. Kann eine Rückbesinnung auf die Errungenschaften seit der Aufklärung dazu beitragen, ein neues Selbstvertrauen als Bürgerin oder Bürger liberaler Demokratien zu entwickeln? Wie definieren liberale Demokratien ihr Verhältnis zur Vergangenheit – und zur Zukunft? Hat sich das Verhältnis zwischen Demokratie und Fortschritt geändert? Schließlich wird es in der Diskussion darum gehen, wie unsere Wahrnehmung der Realität – geprägt sowohl von klassischen als auch sozialen Medien – unsere Selbstwahrnehmung sowie unser soziales und politisches Verhalten beeinflussen.“
