Vor 70 Jahren: wie Bonn Hauptstadt der Bundesrepublik wurde
Gestern war es genau 70 Jahre her, dass Bonn, das kleine Universitätsstädtchen am Rhein, Regierungs- und Parlamentssitz der Bundesrepublik Deutschland wurde, nachdem man dort zuvor bereits den Parlamentarischen Rat beherbergt hatte. Dabei waren auch andere Namen wie Frankfurt oder Kassel im Spiel, am Ende machte Bonn das Rennen – nicht zuletzt durch tatkräftige Unterstützung des früheren Oberbürgermeisters von Köln und späteren Bundeskanzlers Konrad Adenauer. Ein Artikel auf SPIEGEL Online aus dem Jahre 2009 zeichnet die damalige Entscheidungsfindung nach. Heute trägt Bonn die Zusatzbezeichnung „Bundesstadt“, schließlich haben noch mehrere Bundesministerien ihren Hauptsitz in Bonn.
