Neuerscheinung: „Handbuch Demokratie“
Vor wenigen Tagen ist im Wochenschau-Verlag das „Handbuch Demokratie“ erschienen, in dem neben grundsätzlichen Erörterungen (direkte versus repräsentative Demokratie, parlamentarische versus präsidentielle Systeme, etc.) insbesondere das Demokratiemodell der Bundesrepublik Deutschland im Mittelpunkt steht. Seitens des Verlages heißt es: „Das Handbuch bietet eine umfassende politikwissenschaftliche Einordnung des Begriffs ‚Demokratie‘. Die Autor*innen gehen der Frage nach, was die Demokratie als politisches System auszeichnet. Dazu werden theoretische Grundlagen ebenso berücksichtigt wie aktuelle Herausforderungen. Was macht das Demokratiemodell der Bundesrepublik Deutschlands im Vergleich zu anderen Typen moderner Demokratien aus? Wie kann Demokratie aussehen – in Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft? Der Band ermöglicht das gezielte und systematische Erschließen einzelner Themenfelder mit Fokus auf zentralen Begriffen und Kernkonzepten.“ Zu den Autoren des Bandes zählen unter anderem Everhard Holtmann, Frank Decker, Andreas Kost, Uwe Jun, Marion Reiser und Wolfgang Merkel.
