Entscheidung gefallen: Zukunftszentrum kommt nach Halle
Gestern Abend hat die Jury ihre Entscheidung bekanntgegeben: das von der Bundesregierung geplante und finanzierte „Zukunftszentrum Deutsche Einheit und europäische Transformation“ nimmt seinen Sitz in Halle (Saale). Damit konnte sich die Händelstadt gegen die Mitbewerber aus Frankfurt/Oder, Eisenach, Jena sowie Leipzig und Plauen durchsetzen. Auf einem Grundstück am Riebeckplatz in der Nähe des Hauptbahnhofs wird nach einem Architekturwettbewerb bis zum Jahre 2028 eine Mischung aus Museum, Begegnungsstätte und wissenschaftlicher Einrichtung errichtet. 200 Millionen Euro stellt die Bundesregierung für den Bau des Gebäudes zur Verfügung, die laufenden Kosten von ca. 40 Millionen Euro pro Jahr ebenfalls. Etwa 200 neue Arbeitsplätze sollen entstehen, darunter natürlich (hoffentlich) auch attraktive Möglichkeiten für Absolventen/innen der Politikwissenschaft.
