Neu erschienen: Handbuch zur Weimarer Republik
Nicht nur in der Geschichts-, sondern auch in der Politikwissenschaft spielen die Jahre der Weimarer Republik eine zentrale Rolle, etwa mit Blick auf die Rolle und Bedeutung der Weimarer Reichsverfassung, zentrale Bestimmungsfaktoren des politischen Systems und natürlich die Gründe für ihr Scheitern. An (Fach-)Literatur mangelt es zum Untersuchungsgegenstand Weimarer Republik in den unterschiedlichsten wissenschaftlichen Teildisziplinen wahrlich nicht. Und gleichwohl ist kürzlich ein Band erschienen, der viele der bisherigen Publikationen in den Schatten stellen dürfte. Das „Handbuch Weimarer Republik“, herausgegeben von Nadine Rossol und Benjamin Ziemann, umfasst unter dem Titel „Aufbruch und Abgründe“ nicht nur nahezu eintausend Seiten, sondern beleuchtet auch zahlreiche Aspekte, die ansonsten nicht im Fokus der Aufmerksamkeit stehen, etwa kulturelle und gesellschaftliche Themen wie etwa die Konfessionspolitik oder die städtebauliche Architektur jener Jahre. Aber natürlich sind auch die „Klassiker“ dabei, wie etwa eine Analyse der verschiedenen Perioden der Weimarer Republik, die „Rahmenbedingungen der Politik“ sowie eine grundlegende Untersuchung des Parteiensystems sowie einzelner Parteien der Weimarer Republik.
Praktischerweise ist das Handbuch ab sofort in einer preisgünstigen Ausgabe für 7,00 Euro bei der Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung zu haben (Details und Bestellmöglichkeit finden sich einschließlich einer Leseprobe hier).
