„Politischer Pausen Podcast“ zur Parlamentsarchitektur
Immer wieder greifen wir – da, wo es sich anbietet – das Thema der politischen Architektur in unseren Lehrveranstaltungen auf. Gibt es so etwas wie „demokratische Architektur“ – und wie könnte man sie definieren? Was unterscheidet sie von Architektur in autokratischen Systemen? Welches Selbstverständnis eines Parlamentes oder einer Regierung kommt in politischen Gebäuden zum Ausdruck? Und welche Bilder werden auf diese Weise medial vermittelt? Über diese Fragen sprach ich in der vergangenen Woche mit Julia Schwanholz vom „Politischen Pausen Podcast“ an der Universität Duisburg-Essen. Als Fallbeispiel bot sich der Landtag Brandenburg an, der vor ziemlich genau zehn Jahren seine Amtsgeschäfte im wieder aufgebauten Stadtschloss in der Potsdamer Innenstadt aufgenommen hat. Nachzuhören ist die Podcast-Folge auf allen gängigen Podcast-Plattformen, zum Beispiel hier. Wer sich in größerem Detail mit dieser Thematik auseinandersetzen möchte, ist mit dem Buch „Die politische Architektur deutscher Parlamente. Von Häusern, Schlössern und Palästen“ von Julia Schwanholz und Patrick Theiner (Hrsg.) sehr gut bedient. Neben einigen einführenden Beiträgen zu grundsätzlichen Aspekten des Themas sind in diesem Band alle 16 Landtagsgebäude sowie der Deutsche Bundestag im Reichstagsgebäude und das Bundesratsgebäude berücksichtigt.
