Parlamente der Welt: Asturien
Der MLU-Student Luis Hernandez hat uns dieses wunderbare Foto des Parlamentes in Asturien (Spanien) geschickt (vielen Dank dafür!). Auf Spanisch lautet die offizielle Bezeichnung Junta General del Principado de Asturias, auf asturisch Xunta Xeneral del Principáu d’Asturies. Das Parlament ist in Oviedo beheimatet und besteht aus 45 Abgeordneten, die alle vier Jahre gewählt werden. In der derzeitigen Version besteht die Institution seit dem Jahre 1982, allerdings geht die Bezeichnung auf eine Einrichtung zurück, die es bereits seit dem Mittelalter (und bis hinein in das 19. Jahrhundert) gab. Als Präsident der Kammer fungiert seit Juni 2023 Juan Cofiño von der Partei PSOE.
Asturien ist eine „Autonome Gemeinschaft“ im Nordwesten Spaniens, verfügt über eine Fläche von knapp zehntausend Quadratkilometern und umfasst knapp eine Million Einwohner/innen. Fun fact: die dortige Küste nennt sich Costa Verde und bietet einige der schönsten Strände Spaniens.
