Christine O’Donnell ist keine Hexe
Der Wahlkampf läuft augenscheinlich nicht besonders gut, wenn man sich bemüßigt sieht, per Videobotschaft zu versichern, dass man keine Hexe ist. Genau das musste in der letzten Woche Christine O’Donnell tun, die für die Republikaner im Bundesstaat Delaware in den US-Senat in Washington gewählt werden möchte.
Zu diesem Spot sah O’Donnell sich veranlasst, da sie in früheren Interviews zugegeben hatte, schon einmal mit Hexenkunst experimentiert und ein Rendezvous auf einem satanischen Altar gehabt zu haben. Bei Youtube gibt es immer noch die Videos, in denen sie die Evolution für einen Mythos hält und China verdächtigt, einen Masterplan für die feindliche Übernahme der USA zu haben.
Zur Erinnerung: völlig überraschend trat O’Donnell vor einigen Wochen auf die politische Bühne der USA, als sie den favorisierten und erfahrenen Republikaner Mike Castle in der Vorwahl zur Senatswahl schlagen konnte.

Update, 20. Oktober 2010: Ausgerechnet bei einer Veranstaltung in einer Juristischen Fakultät bestreitet O’Donnell, dass es in der amerikanischen Verfassung eine Trennung von Staat und Kirche gebe.
