Der Zeitungskiosk als Institution
Vor wenigen Tagen hat der Zeitungsladen am Südwestkorso in Berlin-Friedenau geschlossen, in dem ich über viele Jahre meine tägliche Presse-Ration erstanden habe. Diesen Kiosk hat die Inhaberin Pelagia Petrick zwar aus Altersgründen geschlossen, aber damit ereilt ihn das Schicksal vieler Zeitungsläden und -stände in den letzten Jahren, die durch Internet und sinkende Auflagenzahlen bedrängt keine Zukunft sahen. Frau Petrick hat es vor einigen Jahren sogar ins Feuilleton der ZEIT geschafft, als Autor Tobias Timm einen Tag lang im Kiosk am Südwestkorso verweilte, um eine Art Kulturgeschichte des Kioskbesuchers zu schreiben. Der Text ist auch über Berlin-Friedenau hinaus aktuell und ist online hier zu finden.
