Heute ist ein besonderer Tag.
Heute ist offiziell der Tag der Statistik. Das amerikanische Magazin Harper’s veröffentlicht seit vielen Jahren in jeder Ausgabe den Harper’s Index, eine Sammlung von mehr oder minder relevanten, auf jeden Fall aber immer interessanten Zahlen und Fakten. In Deutschland schafft es das Magazin brand eins vorzüglich, in seinen Ausgaben in der Rubrik „Welt in Zahlen“ Statistiken Leben einzuhauchen, zum Beispiel hier.
Hier schließlich ein Beispiel aus dem Harper’s Index von 1984:
„Number of police officers and Secret Service agents at the wedding of Ronald Reagan’s daughter Patti: 180.
Number of guests: 134.“
