And the winner is… Niemand zweifelt wohl daran, dass der nächste Bundespräsident Frank-Walter Steinmeier heißen wird – auch wenn es mit dem Vater des Satirikers Martin Sonneborn in den letzten Tagen einen late entry gegeben hat. Auf der 16. Bundesversammlung am Sonntag im Berliner Reichstagsgebäude wird Steinmeier aller Voraussicht nach zum 12. Bundespräsidenten gewählt. Mehrere Beiträge in der aktuellen Ausgabe der vom Deutschen Bundestag herausgegebenen Zeitung „Das Parlament“ beschäftigten sich mit der bevorstehenden Bundesversammlung. Helmut Stoltenberg blickt in einem dieser Artikel auf die Diskussionen rund um das Amt des Bundespräsidenten im Parlamentarischen Rat zurück (hier); hier beschreibt Stoltenberg die Aufgaben und Kompetenzen des Bundespräsidenten. Unter der Überschrift „Pfui-Rufe, Heiterkeit und Familiengeschichten“ findet sich zudem ein amüsanter Streifzug durch die vergangenenen Bundesversammlungen.
