Lange Zeit waren die Analysen und Gutachten des Congressional Research Service (CRS) im amerikanischen Kongress nur für Abgeordnete und deren Mitarbeiterstab zugänglich. Insgesamt 900 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter aus ganz unterschiedlichen Disziplinen arbeiten auf Capitol Hill daran, die Arbeit des Kongresses in seiner Funktion als Arbeitsparlament mit der entsprechenden Expertise zu unterfüttern. Nunmehr ist ein guter Teil der Analysen auch online verfügbar. Die entsprechende Seite findet sich hier. Natürlich sind einige der Studien sehr spezifisch auf bestimmte Politikfelder bzw. konkrete Gesetzgebungsvorhaben zugeschnitten, aber unabhängig davon finden sich viele Berichte, die (auch) für die Recherche im Rahmen der Erstellung von Haus- und Abschlussarbeiten von großem Interesse sein können.
