Der Kurznachrichtendienst Twitter zählt zu den zentralen Ressourcen des US-Präsidenten Donald J. Trump. Nicht nur scheint er diesem Netzwerk viele Informationen und Nachrichten zu entnehmen, er macht über diesen Kanal auch augenscheinlich Politik, etwa indem via Twitter Regierungsmitglieder gefeuert oder internationale Verträge aufgekündigt werden. Zudem nutzt er Twitter dazu, politische Gegner (und auch Freunde) zu diffamieren. Die New York Times hat nun in einer umfangreichen Analyse sämtliche Tweets Trumps seit seinem Amtsantritt ausgewertet (fun fact: es handelt sich um immerhin mehr als 11.000 Tweets in gerade einmal 33 Monaten). Apropos Twitter: jüngst gab das Netzwerk bekannt, zukünftig auf politische Wahlwerbung verzichten zu wollen – ganz im Gegensatz etwa zu Facebook.
